The specifics
- Today: friends on the map. See which friends are riding now, with their speed, and where the others were last seen.
- Today: a friends-only feed of rides with photos and likes, and a leaderboard among friends.
- Today: privacy. Privacy zones hide the places you choose, you can hide yourself at any time, and one switch in Settings stops sharing your location.
- Next version, group rides: when friends meet up, the app offers to ride together. One rider plans, everyone starts with one GO, and each rider sees the others’ positions, distance and arrival time on the way. Leaving or ending the group stops the sharing at once.
- Next version, open rides: a rider posts a ride with a day, a time, a meeting place, a mode and a rider limit, usually with the planned route. Riders nearby see it and join with one tap; 30 minutes before the start it becomes a group ride.
- Open rides protect the organiser: the exact meeting point is shown only to riders who joined, everyone else sees a public place name or the nearby town.
Honest limits
- Group rides and open rides are in testing and not in the App Store version yet. There is no date for them yet.
- Live location is shared only while the app is open. It stops when you leave the app, even while a ride keeps recording in the background.
- Everyone needs an iPhone: there is no Android app, so friends on Android cannot join.
- Open rides have no chat. The organiser sends fixed updates (running late, meeting point moved, postponed, cancelled).
- Posting an open ride needs a verified email and at least one ride on the account.
